On Saturday, May 11th the YCCC hosted two service locations on Cape Cod,
in Osterville and Cotuit.
In Osterville, a group of enthusiastic YCCC women teamed up with Barnstable Natural Resources Shellfishing to move 22 bushels of quahogs. We learned about how shellfish, and quahogs in particular, help improve water quality. The weather was perfect - mid 60's and sunny - and everyone had a ball. We even took home a few quahogs for dinner. See below for pictures. For more information, visit the Town of Barnstable's shellfish quahog propagation webpage HERE.
In Cotuit, YCCC volunteers teamed with the Barnstable Land Trust at Eagle Pond Sanctuary to clear trails and learn about the natural environment. For more information about Eagle Pond, click HERE.
